Huckleberry
01:56Since the Malaysian Ringgit has been depressing, my wallet has taken the impact of it, especially on iTunes because I subscribed to Spotify Premium (although it's worth it). I've completely cut out online shopping from anywhere outside of Malaysia, hence, goodbye Asos and every other online shopping portal in the States.
On a side note, first day of work was pretty good. The office, the environment and the people are warm and welcoming. I've had close friends and family members wishing me good luck and all the best a day before I started work today. It made me feel extremely happy and blessed.
First day of work plus Monday produced quite a slow day but new colleagues have been friendly and helpful. My office space is pretty comfy and I have figured out where to put my imaginary plant. I will get a suitable desk plant, soon! I'm considering if I should get basil or the Lucky Leaves. They say basil is a magical plant that will bring good luck in work and love. I think I'm already pretty lucky with love so I need more luck with work. I'm pretty excited about that.
Like I said, I had a bit of a break before I started work. I went to Huckleberry Food & Fare in Damansara Heights (they're near Mollydooker's and Kita Kita Restaurant). I fell in love with Huckleberry in an instant! The interior gives off a rustic French vibe and cosy. You'll see bread samples, which I believe they are baked in-cafe. They also have a selection of cakes and pastries.
Their coffee, using Sumatran Gayo blend was strong and hits you like a brick wall. At least, that was what it felt like when I had their macchiato. It's not a bad thing but I think I would like the blend better with a bit more milk, like a cappuccino or flat white.
I was already full from cake, coffee and fresh juice, I opted to takeaway their pastries. I brought home some plain croissant and almond croissant as well as mini rolls. Mom and I had the pastries the next day for breakfast and oh boy, they were still good! The croissants were soft and a little heavy but lightweight yet still crunchy on the pastry skin. Great with coffee for breakfast or teatime.
Alos, today's is boyfriend's birthday! I was really going to stay up until midnight to wish him an early birthday but that did not happen. I fell asleep, yikes! Sorry boo! But I shall make it up to you by getting you a burger tower with lots of cheese and a candle on it.
Oh, I also got tagged by Grind 22 @ Bangsar for buy one free one coffee. I shall go there with boo after work to celebrate two occasions; my first day of work and his birthday. It has been a good start for this week, I look forward to what this week will bring.
