The little things
23:52Sorry for not posting in awhile. I have been caught up with many things from work and family but still managed to squeeze a few coffee breaks and brunches in between. So many backed up posts. I'm pretty excited to start with a new company next Monday. It's a whole new job scope and I'm getting pretty psyched about it! I'm thinking to get a plant for my new desk. Went around to look for a suitable plant these few days and found a plant from China called the Lucky Leafs. They're simple and cute, feng shui for good luck. Maybe I'll get that although I think a hanging terrarium is also pretty.
I think I'm getting old because all I can think about is planting. I'd look at a corner and would think types of plants to go into that perfect corner.
Before I left my former company, I received a sweet bouquet from Jo. The flowers were beautiful but the message was the loveliest. They put a smile on my face for the whole week. The flowers are still alive today!
Transitioning from the former to the new company, I have one week before I start on Monday and oh dear, how time flies. I thought I might have time to rest but somehow, all I do was scheduling meetings with business acquiantances and friends every other day. Now, it's mid week and I'm barely rested.
I did meet up with Lena over the week. I have been holding back our brunch meeting for a little over a month now. We went to The Fat Spoon for brunch and had some soft serve for dessert. The Fat Spoon never disappoints for some Nyonya fusion foods. I had my favourite Moo Moo burger, which was beef slices burger with chilli padi while Lena had salmon burger.
I've always like The Fat Spoon's ID especially its outside area, giving off the rustic Nyonya vibes yet has a touch of modernity in it. I forgot to take photos of the interior but the stuffs you may find in there are those from your grandparents' house like the iron flask and kettle. The best part is that you get to enjoy good food like they're from your grandmother's kitchen. I've several reviews on their nasi ulam but never tried them. I'd like to go back to The Fat Spoon and try them out.
