These few months have been hectic for me. Well, maybe hectic is a bit of an exaggeration. Okay, let me reword – these few months have been a good kind of busy for me – work, gym and good rest and some good foods with great companies. Honestly, sticking to this routine has benefitted me in many ways. How? I feel healthier and happier, hence, more productive at work.
I managed to slot in some cafe hops here and there every other weekend. Speaking of which, I finally tried Yellow Brick Road on Jalan Batai, Damansara Heights.
At almost 1.30pm that Saturday, Yellow Brick Road was packed. From couples to families, it was quite an overwhelming crowd that day. Then, I began to wonder, if the crowd pattern was consistent every weekend?
Anyway, managed to get one table for three near the window. Lucky us! I love seats by the windows. Nins and Michael showed up a little late due to the weekend road traffic (it was the first week where everyone gets their pay).
Yellow Brick Road has a warm ambience with their interior mainly of wood. Although it was shoulder-to-shoulder crowded, it was still sort of breathable. Our seats were upstairs and there, it was less crowded since there are less tables as compared with downstairs. I think I saw a kitchen upstairs too? If that's the case, then I think they're doing a good job in managing the kitchen traffic.
The menu was extensive with heavy meals from savoury to sweet pancakes. Their pancake menu had me mouthwatering but had to quickly stop myself because of it was lunch and I assumed their pancakes won't be just one piece.
Nins, Michael and I had three very satisfying meals and their delicious chai lattes and iced long black to boast. I had their beef rendang with English muffin and it was love at every bite. I can't remember what Michael had but the pie was beautifully done.
On a side note though, Jalan Batai was a given a new life when Ben's opened up their store. The place was beautiful and chill – perfect for weekend outings with friends or family.
